J. Janus’s unique notebook series reveals glimpses of the DNA of secret love and romantic Vilnius
15min presents Slapta meilė, a series of four notebooks created by Julija Janus, with texts in Lithuanian and English about the story of Sigismund Augustus and Barbara Radziwiłł, 16th-century Vilnius and life around the Palace of the Grand Dukes. The covers and illustrations use fragments of Miglė Kosinskaitė’s painting and images provided by the Palace museum, and the preparation took more than three months. The article also mentions the free Slapta meilė audio guide that follows Barbara Radziwiłł’s paths through Vilnius.
“…Vilnius has a romantic DNA code but has not used the chance to bring it to life and make its magnetism stand out.”
