The hotel is situated in a stunning Renaissance palace complex in the Old Town of Vilnius. The palace was constructed during a period when Vilnius was experiencing the golden age of Renaissance. It was ruled by the young Duke Sigismund Augustus, who was involved in the most famous, romantic and dramatic love story of all time, along with Duchess Barbara Radziwiłł, the daughter of local nobleman, George Radvila. Ever since then, Barbara has remained as one of the most well-known women in Lithuanian history. The royal love story is so unique that its operatic and tragic nature has attracted a variety of different writers, poets, painters and filmmakers to document the story for almost five hundred years.

The hotel contains a suite named after the Duchess, as well as a beautiful portrait of her, painted by Lithuanian artist, Raimondas Miknevičius, which is on display in the lobby of the hotel.
