“Slapta meilė” Dark Chocolate with Orange and Sea Salt | Sigismund Augustus

There was no chocolate yet in Barbara’s day – but if there had been, she would certainly have known what to do with it. This dark chocolate with 75% cocoa, sweet-and-sour orange and a subtle touch of sea salt is like a coded letter from the past, when feelings were dangerous but flavours were bold.

Oranges were the fruit with which Sigismund Augustus spoiled his queen. This chocolate was created by the masters of the “Rūta” confectionery factory together with artist Julija Janus. The packaging was designed by Petras Saulėnas, and the cover features a detail from Miglė Kosinskaitė’s canvas – Sigismund’s hand, still faithfully holding on to love.
