From 4 June 2025 to 4 January 2026, the House of Histories of the National Museum of Lithuania hosted the exhibition “Queen, Kingdom and Feelings”. Its originator and one of its curators is Julija Janus. The exhibition revealed a new side of the 16th-century history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, telling the stories of two remarkable queens – Barbara Radziwiłł and Catherine Jagiellon.

Through authentic exhibits and contemporary art, not only their fates but also the emotional world of that era were revealed. The exhibition’s design, architecture, and specially composed music created an atmosphere of historical experience never before seen in Lithuania. From 14 February to 15 August 2026 the exhibition moved to Sweden, to the Museum of History and Modern Art in Uppsala. It is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Queen Catherine Jagiellon’s birth and has opened the stories of Lithuanian queens to the Swedish public.
