A modern portrait of Barbara Radziwiłł: would she be a megastar today?

As we approach the spectacular 500th anniversary of her birth, the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania museum shares another artists’ vision of how the legendary Barbara Radziwiłł would look if she walked into the Palace today.

500 years ago, on 6 December 1522, Barbara Radziwiłł, the future Grand Duchess of Lithuania and Queen of Poland, was born. When Barbara was still in the cradle, perhaps no one could have predicted that the name of this particular Radziwiłł girl would be spoken by future generations, that her personality would inspire artists and spark so much discussion.
