Some cities are famous for their architecture. Vilnius is also famous for its love stories.
More than twenty romantic stories – twenty love stops on the old Vilnius map.
The author invites you to travel from house to house and tells true love stories that began in Vilnius, but became famous far beyond the city and even outside Lithuania. Intriguing tales of the love of well-known and lesser-known people who lived here reveal not only their fates but also unexpected details of the city's history.
There are many ways to get to know Vilnius, but we best feel its special spirit by remembering the people who built, defended, loved, and created this city.
„I imagined myself wandering through the streets of the Old Town, looking into windows and overhearing snippets of conversations, seeing shadows and silhouettes in the windows that briefly flashed and then retreated into the depths of their own lives. These sounds and sights combine to form a unique spectacle, with its scenery – Vilnius churches descended from the heavens, magnificent palaces, the curves of narrow streets, alleyways, or dead ends, and the city's spirit, brimming with great love.“
