The exhibition „Secret Love“ of stylised historical costumes by designer Julia Janus comes to Dubingiai“
The famous love story between Sigismund Augustus, heir to the Lithuanian and Polish thrones, and Barbara Radvilaitė began in 1543. The four-year-long secret relationship became a public and much-discussed topic of the day after the marriage in the summer of 1547, according to a press release.
This brief tale of royal love remains unforgettable to this day and, even after five hundred years, continues to inspire artists and find expression in new forms. The Dubingiai festival „Greeting Queen Barbora“ opens in the second month of summer with Julija Janus’s stylized exhibition of 16th-century royal costumes, „Slapta meilė.“ The impressive costumes will be on display for two months at the Visitor Center of the Dubingiai Asveja Regional Park.
